Imposter Component Tracking

Imposter components are custom implementations that duplicate a VA Design System web component. This section tracks two goals.

FY26: resolve 150 imposter component issues raised by governance review. Teams have closed 143 of 150.

FY27: remove every remaining imposter component from vets-website by the end of the fiscal year. Progress is measured by the code scan below rather than by issue counts, so imposters that were never flagged are included.

Accessibility Issues by Defect Level

Tracks the number of new accessibility issues created each month, grouped by defect severity level (0 = most severe, 3 = least severe). Dashed vertical lines mark calendar year quarter boundaries.

This provides visibility into trends in the volume and severity of newly created accessibility issue tickets over time, rather than the total number of open issues. It is a reporting signal, not a measure of overall system health, and should be interpreted alongside context such as testing activity and policy changes.
